Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], August 24: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared the productive discussions from the Monsoon session of the Assembly in Gairsain, which he believed were beneficial for the state. He outlined plans for developing Bharadisain as a summer capital, including organizing events and improving infrastructure.

Monsoon Session Highlights

Chief Minister Dhami held a press conference after the three-day monsoon session of the Uttarakhand Assembly in Gairsain. He mentioned that the session could have lasted longer if the opposition had not been in a hurry. The supplementary budget and several bills were discussed and approved. The supplementary budget aims to support the general budget, focusing on increasing revenue, reducing expenses, and maintaining financial discipline.

Development and Financial Plans

Special attention is being given to revenue receipt areas, and the process of taking loans has been reduced. The state’s performance in development, as evidenced by its top position in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals issued by NITI Aayog, is commendable. Efforts are being made to implement centrally funded schemes effectively and ensure that the people benefit from these schemes.

Guest houses are being better managed to connect them with income sources, aiming to improve the state’s financial conditions for future generations. Effective decisions have been made for the youth, sportspersons, and students. Schemes are in place to strengthen women’s self-help groups by providing interest-free loans and connecting them with self-employment opportunities. Marketing arrangements for their products have also been improved.

Public Interest Schemes

Employment-oriented schemes in agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and dairy development are being implemented. The Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Bill has been approved to prevent damage to property due to riots and vandalism, ensuring mutual brotherhood and peace in the state.

Dhami expressed concern over recent violent incidents in Bangladesh and emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence. He assured that efforts are being made to support areas affected by recent heavy rainfall in the state. Inspections of disaster-affected areas are ongoing, and there will be no shortage of funds to help the victims.

Future Plans for Bharadisain

The Chief Minister reiterated the goal of developing Bharadisain as the summer capital. A high-level meeting will be organized soon to discuss this. Efforts will be made to organize various activities throughout the year in Bharadisain, conduct long assembly sessions, build a good hospital, and ensure housing arrangements for journalists and police personnel.
