Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Approves Supplementary Budget and Pays Tribute to Captain Deepak Singh

On August 17, a state cabinet meeting chaired by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami approved the presentation of the supplementary budget in the upcoming assembly session in Gairsain starting August 21.

The meeting began with a tribute to Captain Deepak Singh, who was killed in action, by observing two minutes of silence in his memory.

The cabinet expressed special gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for re-determining the rates of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) as per a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs dated August 14.

Discussions were held on renaming the ‘State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (Setu)’ to ‘State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (Setu) Commission’ in line with a similar commission by the Government of India.

Further, the cabinet discussed the approval of the Uttarakhand Food Security Service Cadre (Group A, B, and C) Service Amendment Rules 2024 and the annual financial representation of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited for the financial year 2022-23.

Additionally, Chief Minister Dhami decided to lift the ban on appointing dependents of deceased workers in cooperative and public sector sugar mills, allowing the employment of dependents of 68 permanent personnel based on eligibility, qualification, and vacancies.
