Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Farmers Fair

On October 4, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the 116th All India Farmers Fair and Agro-Industry Exhibition at Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar. During the event, CM Dhami explored various stalls and virtually opened the Harela Garden. He honored progressive farmers from different districts with mementoes and certificates.

CM Dhami expressed his happiness at attending the event, highlighting the university’s role in India’s Green Revolution. He emphasized the importance of such fairs in helping farmers access the latest agricultural technologies and resources like advanced seeds, machinery, and organic fertilizers.

He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, efforts are being made to enhance farmers’ skills and prosperity. The government is increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for major crops and providing financial support through the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, benefiting over 8 lakh farmers in Uttarakhand.

The state government, inspired by PM Modi, is offering interest-free loans up to three lakh rupees and subsidies for agricultural equipment. Farmers receive bonuses on wheat and sugarcane purchases, and irrigation from canals is free. Organic tea gardens and aroma valleys are being developed, and a significant budget is allocated for polyhouses and rain-fed farming projects.

CM Dhami praised the university’s contributions to agriculture, benefiting farmers across India. The fair aims to uplift farmers by showcasing advanced agricultural techniques and crop varieties.
