Chamoli, Uttarakhand - As the Kedarnath by-election approaches, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) success in the Kedarnath Assembly constituency. He highlighted the positive atmosphere for the party, attributing it to significant development in Kedarnath under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership since the 2013 tragedy.
CM Dhami emphasized the reconstruction and redevelopment efforts in Shri Kedarnath Dham, stating, "The atmosphere is clearly in favour of the BJP, and we will win the Kedarnath Assembly constituency with a record margin."
Earlier, CM Dhami visited the Kalimath Temple in Rudraprayag and participated in a public meeting in Guptkashi to support BJP candidate Asha Nautiyal. He also led a bike rally in her favor.
During a public rally, CM Dhami noted, "Several development projects have been undertaken in Kedarnath Dham under PM Modi's leadership. Efforts are being made to establish Kedarnath as a global tourist destination." He mentioned that the number of devotees visiting Kedarnath has increased significantly during the BJP's tenure.
He criticized the Congress for "appeasement politics" and "land jihad," contrasting it with the BJP's focus on preserving the demographic structure and providing employment opportunities for the youth.
The Kedarnath Assembly seat became vacant after the passing of former MLA Shaila Rani. The by-election is set for November 20, with vote counting on November 23.
