US Investigates Leak of Israel’s Secret Plans Against Iran
The United States is currently investigating a leak of highly classified intelligence that reveals Israel’s potential plans for a retaliatory strike against Iran. This information was reported by CNN, citing three individuals familiar with the situation. One source confirmed the authenticity of the documents, which are marked as top secret and intended for the US and its “Five Eyes” intelligence partners: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
The documents, dated October 15 and 16, were posted online by an account named “Middle East Spectator” on Telegram. They detail Israel’s preparations for a military strike against Iran, including moving munitions and conducting air force exercises with air-to-surface missiles. A US official described the leak as “deeply concerning,” and the investigation is focused on identifying who had access to the sensitive Pentagon material.
The leak has prompted a joint investigation by the FBI, the Pentagon, and US intelligence agencies. The FBI has declined to comment on the situation. The leak comes at a sensitive time in US-Israel relations, as Israel has been preparing to retaliate against Iran following a missile barrage on October 1.
One document also suggests the existence of Israel’s nuclear weapons, although it notes that there is no evidence of plans to use them against Iran. Mick Mulroy, a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for West Asia, stated that if the leak is true, it represents a serious breach that could challenge future US-Israel coordination.
The leak follows a major intelligence breach last year when a 21-year-old Air National Guardsman posted classified information on Discord, affecting US relations with allies like South Korea and Ukraine.
