Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that preparations for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj are underway, with a deadline set for December 15 to complete all facilities for devotees. The government is using AI tools for safety, promoting zero plastic usage, and expanding the festival area. CM Yogi emphasized that no devotee should walk more than 1 km, except on six peak days, and over 700 electric shuttle buses will be available for transport.

To maintain cleanliness, no solid or liquid waste will be discharged into the Ganga or Yamuna rivers, with sewage treated before discharge. CM Yogi aims to make the Kumbh a grand, clean, and safe event, surpassing the standards set by the 2019 Kumbh Mela. The state government is collaborating with central departments to expedite preparations, with projects worth Rs 5600 crores underway to beautify Prayagraj.

The Maha Kumbh Mela is scheduled from January 14 to February 26, 2025, with the main bathing festivals on January 14, January 29, and February 3. The UP government will provide subsidies to improve facilities at dhabas, restaurants, and hotels along major routes for tourists and devotees.
