Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, assured that no state is treated unfairly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. This statement came after Chief Ministers from opposition-led states boycotted the 9th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, alleging budgetary injustice.

Boycott by Opposition Chief Ministers

Chief Ministers from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi, and Punjab did not attend the meeting chaired by PM Modi at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin was the first to announce his boycott, followed by Congress Chief Ministers from Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana.

Union Minister’s Assurance

Dubey emphasized that Odisha, like all states, is an inseparable part of India and will receive fair treatment. He mentioned his upcoming visit to NALCO (National Aluminium Company Limited) to review arrangements and highlighted the work done in the past decade.

Protests and Criticisms

Meanwhile, the DMK staged state-wide protests in Tamil Nadu against the Union Budget, claiming the state was neglected. CM Stalin criticized the budget as a ‘vengeful act’ against those who boycotted the BJP.
