Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Leads the Pledge
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways marked ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ or National Unity Day with a virtual pledge to uphold the unity, integrity, and security of India. The pledge was led by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, with thousands of colleagues joining in Dibrugarh.
Honoring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
During the event, Minister Sonowal emphasized the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for a strong India, which has been revitalized by the efforts of the Narendra Modi-led government. He praised PM Modi’s ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ philosophy, which aligns with Patel’s mission to unify the nation.
Sonowal paid tribute to Sardar Patel by performing ‘Pad Puja’ and offering floral tributes. He criticized Congress for not honoring Patel’s contributions adequately, stating that under PM Modi’s leadership, Patel’s legacy is now celebrated to inspire a strong, united India.

Sonowal highlighted that PM Modi is following Patel’s path towards inclusive development, leading India towards ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The event served as a reminder of Patel’s ideals and contributions to building a strong India.
