Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy Accuses Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah of Misusing Office in MUDA Scam
Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has accused Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of misusing his office. Kumaraswamy supported the steps taken by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot regarding the alleged MUDA scam, calling them ‘right.’
On Wednesday, a Special Court in Bengaluru directed the Karnataka Lokayukta to investigate allegations that the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) illegally allotted 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi. The investigation must be completed within three months.
This order followed the Karnataka High Court’s decision to vacate its interim stay order, which had temporarily halted proceedings. The High Court dismissed Siddaramaiah’s petition challenging the Governor’s approval for the investigation, stating that the sanction for prosecution was valid.
Advocate Vasant Kumar, representing social activist Snehamayi Krishna, confirmed that an FIR would be registered, and the Mysuru Lokayukta jurisdiction would conduct the investigation.
