Union Minister G Kishan Reddy Questions Congress Over Muthyalamma Temple Vandalism in Hyderabad

In Hyderabad, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy expressed his concerns about the recent vandalism of the Muthyalamma temple in Secunderabad. He questioned the Congress government about the occurrence of such incidents during their rule. Reddy highlighted that the temple’s idol was destroyed and suggested a conspiracy behind the act. He also criticized the police for using force against peaceful protestors.

Protests and Police Action

On Saturday, Telangana Police used lathi-charge on protestors at the Muthyalamma temple, where a large crowd had gathered to express their discontent over the vandalism. This incident followed two other cases of idol vandalization in Hyderabad, which have sparked protests from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other religious groups.

Previous Incidents

The first incident involved the vandalization of a Durga idol at a Puja pandal in Nampally. The police reported that the act was accidental, caused by a hungry vagabond searching for food. Despite this, BJP leaders have called for a thorough investigation. The second incident at the Muthyalamma temple led to the arrest of Salman Salim Thakur, who was attending a personality development workshop in the city.

BJP leaders, including G Kishan Reddy, have demanded an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the temple vandalism case.
