Ujjain Food Safety Officers Seize 300 kg of Adulterated Mawa Before Diwali
In Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, food safety officers confiscated 300 kg of adulterated Mawa (Khoa) on Friday morning. The Mawa was being transported from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, via bus parcel service. The officers acted on a tip-off and intercepted the consignment at Dewas gate bus stand around 7 AM.
Details of the Seizure
District Food Safety Officer Basant Dutt Sharma explained that the operation was part of efforts to prevent the sale of adulterated items during the Diwali festival. Upon arrival at the bus stand, Sharma identified a suspect, Praveen Jain, who was linked to the consignment. Jain, a resident of Vidyapati Nagar, lacked a food license and no shop of his was found in the area.
Investigation and Further Actions
The officers recovered 300 kg of Mawa packed in 10 sacks, each containing 30 kg. The investigation is ongoing to determine Jain’s distribution network and further actions will be taken based on the findings.
