Uddhav Thackeray Supports Congress and NCP for Maharashtra Elections

In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed his support for the Chief Ministerial candidate chosen by their alliance partners, Congress and the Sharad Pawar-led National Congress Party, ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly Election. Speaking at the Vajra Nirdhar Parishad, Thackeray emphasized the importance of winning in Maharashtra and criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for attempting to change the constitution and creating national discord.

Thackeray accused the BJP of selfishness, criticizing their ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ slogan as ‘Sabka Sath, Dost ka Vikas.’ He also criticized the Maharashtra government’s recent schemes, suggesting they were merely election tactics. Thackeray reaffirmed Shiv Sena’s commitment to Hindutva but distanced the party from the BJP, urging the public to oppose the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra Assembly election will feature a contest between the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, including Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, against the Maha Yuti Alliance, which comprises BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). The Election Commission of India has not yet announced the poll dates.
