UAE Sends 2,000 Tonnes of Aid to Help Lebanon

On October 25, a ship from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) arrived at Beirut Port in Lebanon, carrying 2,000 tonnes of urgent relief supplies. This effort is part of the ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ campaign, initiated at the start of October. The campaign is directed by President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with guidance from Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sultan Al Shamsi, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organisations, stated that the aid shipment shows the UAE’s support for Lebanon during tough times. The ship brought 1,000 tonnes of food and 1,000 tonnes of shelter equipment, adding to a total of 2,610 tonnes of aid sent so far.

The UAE’s campaign has also sent 14 aircraft with help from organizations like the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNICEF, UNHCR, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The campaign has gathered 1,300 tonnes of relief supplies with contributions from 24 Emirati organizations and many volunteers, showing the UAE’s dedication to helping others.
