UAE Launches ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ Campaign

Under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has initiated a national relief effort named “UAE stands with Lebanon” to support Lebanon amidst ongoing challenges. The UAE, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), sent an aircraft from Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai carrying 40 tonnes of urgent medical aid to Lebanon. This is the first flight under the relief campaign, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian efforts and its strong ties with Lebanon.

UAE’s Humanitarian Vision

Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, highlighted the UAE’s dedication to providing urgent humanitarian support globally. She emphasized the UAE’s commitment to aiding Lebanon during this crisis, focusing on alleviating suffering and addressing urgent needs, especially for the most vulnerable.

Commitment to Regional Stability

The UAE has expressed concern over the escalating situation in Lebanon and its impact on regional stability. The UAE reaffirms its support for Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, urging international efforts to halt the escalation and protect civilians according to international law.
