Tripura Panchayat Elections: High Voter Turnout and Promises of New Jobs by CM Manik Saha
The three-tier panchayat elections in Tripura began at 7 am on Thursday with tight security. By 4 pm, a 79.06% voter turnout was recorded, according to the State Election Commission (SEC).

Antara Sarkar, BJP MLA in Kamalasgar constituency, Sepahijala district, said, “Three-tier panchayat elections in Tripura began this morning in different parts of Tripura. All the voters cast their votes in peace and comfort.” She praised the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha for the smooth conduct of the elections.
Dipak Kumar Sutradhar, Presiding Officer at 77 Champamura HS School, South Part, Sepahijala District, added, “Panchayat election vote casting started this morning at 7 am. We prepared everything on time, and people came to cast their votes amidst security arrangements.”

Purna Debbarma, a voter, expressed happiness about casting his vote and his support for the current government. Tania Nandi, another voter, said, “I cast my vote in Rabindranath Tagore College. I had no issues casting my vote. I hope there is development in this area.”

Earlier, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections. On the last day of the nomination submission, he visited Mata Tripuri Temple and offered prayers.
In a significant move aimed at boosting employment, the Tripura government announced plans to release over 10,000 job opportunities following the completion of the Panchayat elections. This decision, made by Chief Minister Manik Saha, aims to reduce unemployment and contribute to the overall development of Tripura.
