A 40-year-old female school teacher was tragically shot and killed in front of her father in the Jangdara Totalai area of Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The incident occurred after she refused a marriage proposal. The suspect fled the scene, and local police have registered a first information report (FIR) and launched an investigation.

According to the victim’s father, the suspect had previously attacked his daughter, but no action was taken despite reporting it to the police. This incident is part of a rising trend of crime in Pakistan, with similar cases reported in June.

Similar Incidents in June

On June 8, a 22-year-old female school teacher in the Tazagram area of Mardan district was killed in the name of ‘honour’ after contracting a free-will marriage. She was dragged out of a car and murdered. The police have started an investigation, and the woman’s body has been sent for medico-legal formalities.

On June 4, two sisters who had married boys they loved against their family’s wishes were killed in the name of ‘honour.’ The sisters were brought back due to a decision made by a ‘Panchayat’ and were killed by their father, brother, and uncle.
