In Pune, a hit-and-run incident occurred in the Bopodi area early in the morning, resulting in the death of a police officer and injury to another. The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. when a four-wheeler struck two beat marshals on a motorcycle. The driver fled the scene, leaving the officers injured. One officer died from his injuries, while the other is stable and under medical supervision. DCP Vijay Magar stated that the vehicle has been traced, but the driver is yet to be apprehended. The investigation is ongoing.

In a similar incident in Mumbai, a BMW car hit a bike in Worli, leading to the death of Kaveri Nakhwa, a 45-year-old woman, and injuring her husband. The car belongs to a political leader from Palghar, and his son was in the car with the driver. The police have arrested Rajendra Singh Rajawat and Rajesh Shah, the father of the main accused, who is absconding. Six teams have been formed to arrest the main accused. The incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. near Atria Mall in Worli. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde assured that strict action would be taken against the culprits.
