Tragic Cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir: 3 Children Found Dead, 4 Still Missing
In the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, a cloudburst on August 26 led to a devastating flash flood. Authorities have recovered the bodies of three children: Yasir (20), Khalid Hussain (12), and Shazia Bano (7). Four individuals, including two girls and two women, remain missing.
According to Subhash Kumar, Incharge Police Post Rajgarh, the missing persons are Nasima Begum (40), Gulshan Begum (40), Seerat Bano (6), and Nazia Bano (6). The district administration quickly mobilized resources for the rescue operation.
Tehsildar Rajgarh Major Singh reported that a light load carrier, a car, and a scooter were washed away in the flood. The Government Middle School in Gadgra was completely destroyed, and the Government Middle School in Draman was damaged.
The Jammu Kashmir Police, SDRF, and NDRF are actively involved in the rescue efforts. The victims’ families have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for assistance. The search for the missing continues.
