Tragic Accident in Bihar: Four Kanwariyas Killed

In Bihar’s Banka district, a tragic accident occurred on Friday night when a vehicle ran over a group of Kanwariyas, resulting in the death of four individuals and injuring several others. The Kanwariyas were on their way to the Jast Gaur Nath Mahadev temple after collecting Ganga Jal from Sultanganj.

Police and Administration Response

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Bipin Bihari confirmed the incident, stating, “Some Kanwariyas were hit by a vehicle…4 people have died. There was some law & order situation initially but the situation is normal. Police are present at the spot…”

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Avinash Kumar, who arrived at the scene, reported, “We immediately reached the spot… Around 10-11 people have been injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment… 4 people have died. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The situation is peaceful and the administration is cooperating fully… We will investigate the incident …”

Villagers’ Reaction

Following the accident, angry villagers set a police vehicle on fire, highlighting the tension in the area.

Another Tragic Incident in UP

In a separate incident in UP’s Siddharthnagar, a private bus returning from a religious site lost control and fell into a ravine, killing two people and injuring 20 others. The victims were from Mahankola village in the Shohratgarh tehsil.
