Tragedy Strikes Muzaffarpur Due to Poisonous Liquor
In Muzaffarpur, Bihar, a tragic incident occurred where one person died and two others were hospitalized after consuming poisonous liquor. The deceased, Shyam Sahni, attended a liquor party and later lost his eyesight before passing away at Shree Krishna Medical College and Hospital. Two others, Mukesh Sahni and Virodhi Sahni, also lost their eyesight, with Mukesh in critical condition.
Police Investigation and Political Reactions
The police are actively investigating the incident, conducting raids, and have arrested 14 individuals in connection with the tragedy. RJD Spokesperson Priyanka Bharti criticized the state government for neglecting the people’s plight, while BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad defended the government’s efforts in addressing the issue.

Earlier, 33 people died in Gopalganj and Siwan due to similar circumstances. The Special Investigation Team is probing these cases, having conducted over 200 raids and seized large quantities of illicit liquor materials.
