TMC Leader Kunal Ghosh Criticizes Junior Doctors Amid RG Kar Case Protests

In Kolkata, the protest by junior doctors continues as they demand justice in the RG Kar rape-murder case. Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh accused the junior doctors of not wanting the case to be resolved, claiming they aim to create disorder. Ghosh stated that the doctors have no faith in the Kolkata Police, health administration, Supreme Court, or CBI, and accused them of being politically motivated by leftist forces.

Despite the arrest of the accused by Kolkata Police and the case being handed over to the CBI, the protests persist. Junior doctors organized a protest march to the Governor’s house, known as ‘Raj Bhavan Abhijan’. The Federation of Medical Association (FEMA) announced a two-day pen-down strike in medical colleges and hospitals in Siliguri over the case.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar expressed support for the doctors, urging BJP workers and West Bengal residents to join the protests. He criticized the West Bengal government for not fulfilling promises made to the doctors during a meeting with the Chief Minister. The protests follow the tragic death of a woman trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9.
