Tirupati Temple Celebrates Sri Krishna Janmashtami with Special Events on August 27-28

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati is set to host a series of special events on August 27 and 28 to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami.

Events on August 27

According to a TTD release, the festivities will begin with the Gokulashtami Asthanam fete at the Bangaru Vakili Mukha Mandapam inside the Srivari temple. During this event, Sri Krishna Swami will be honoured on the ‘Sarva Bhopala Vahanam’ at the Mukha Mandapam between 8 pm and 10 pm. The evening will end with the ‘Ekantha Snapana Tirumanjanam’ ceremony for the utsava idols of Sri Ugra Srinivasa and his consorts, followed by the Dwadasharadhana.

Events on August 28

On August 28, TTD will organise a golden Tiruchi Vahana Seva along Mada streets featuring Sri Malayappa Swami and Sri Krishna Swami as part of the grand Utlotsavam fete. Local youth and devotees will participate in this event. Due to these festivities, TTD has cancelled Arjita Sevas like Arjita Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on August 28.
