Three Arrested with 5kg Heroin in Amritsar, Punjab Police Say

Three drug smugglers were arrested with 5 kg of heroin in Ranike village, Amritsar, according to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. This is the second 5 kg heroin consignment recovered in a day, with 27.2 kg seized in a week.

The smugglers, identified as Rasal Singh, Jaskaran Singh, and Amritpal Singh, were in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers. Police also seized a scooter and conducted a thorough search.

A case has been registered under sections 21, 25, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Police Station State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar. Investigations are ongoing to establish further connections.
