On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with IT and Industry Minister D Sridhar Babu, met with representatives of Foxconn to discuss the progress of ongoing projects in Rangareddy district near Hyderabad. The meeting took place at Foxconn’s site in Kongara Kalan, where CM Reddy interacted with Foxconn Chairman Young Liu via video conference.

During the meeting, CM Reddy assured Foxconn of the government’s support in providing necessary infrastructure facilities. He encouraged the company to invest in more sectors, particularly in the electric and lithium battery industries. Foxconn Chairman Young Liu had previously expressed interest in investing in Hyderabad, highlighting the city’s potential for growth in industrial and service sectors.

Foxconn’s Global Presence and Indian Investments

Foxconn, established in Taiwan in 1974, is the world’s largest electronics manufacturer and a major supplier of Apple iPhones. The company is known for its technological solutions and integration of manufacturing systems with emerging technologies. Foxconn has committed to investing in various Indian states, including Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

In August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Young Liu to discuss investment opportunities in India. Foxconn plans to double its workforce and investment in the country. The Karnataka government and Foxconn have signed a Letter of Intent for two projects with an estimated investment of Rs 5,000 crore.
