Swapnil Kusale made history by winning a bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3P event at the Paris Olympics 2024. This is the first time an Indian shooter has won a medal in this event.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini congratulated Sarabjot Singh, who won a bronze medal with Manu Bhaker in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. India has secured three bronze medals in shooting at the Paris Olympics so far.

India’s History in Olympic Shooting

India’s best performance in shooting before this was at the 2012 London Olympics, where Vijay Kumar won a silver and Gagan Narang won a bronze. India’s first-ever shooting medal was won by Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in 2004, followed by Abhinav Bindra’s historic gold in 2008.

In the qualification rounds, Kusale finished seventh, while Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar ranked 11th. Only the top eight shooters qualified for the final round.
