Suvendu Adhikari Praises Union Budget 2024 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], July 23: West Bengal Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari praised the Union Budget 2024 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He said it will propel the country towards becoming a developed nation, or ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Adhikari highlighted nine key priorities of the budget:

  • Productivity and resilience in agriculture
  • Employment and skilling
  • Inclusive human resource development and social justice
  • Manufacturing and services
  • Urban development
  • Energy security
  • Infrastructure
  • Innovation, research, and development
  • Next-generation reforms

He believes the budget will empower youth, women, and farmers, accelerating India’s progress towards becoming a developed nation. Adhikari thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the pro-development budget.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar also praised the budget for its focus on job creation and support for the eastern part of the country. He noted that the budget covers a wide range of areas, from critical minerals to space research, and includes increased MUDRA loans and reduced interest on education loans.

The Finance Minister presented the first Union Budget of the Modi 3.0 government and her seventh consecutive one. The budget session of Parliament began on July 22 and will end on August 12.
