Suvendu Adhikari Accuses Mamata Banerjee Over RG Kar Hospital Renovation Controversy

West Medinipur (West Bengal), September 5: Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal assembly, has accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of misleading the public regarding the renovation order at RG Kar Hospital. Adhikari claims that the order was received on August 10, not before August 9 as previously stated.

Adhikari has called for an investigation into the Chief Minister’s call records from August 9-10. He questioned, “Rapists will be hanged but what will happen to those who protect rapists?”

Earlier, BJP national spokesperson Amit Malviya shared a letter dated August 10, allegedly signed by former principal of RG Kar Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, ordering renovation a day after a trainee doctor was raped and murdered. Malviya accused the West Bengal government and the hospital of lying about the renovation date.

Malviya also targeted Mamata Banerjee, the hospital administration, and the Kolkata Police, accusing them of colluding to destroy evidence. He demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister and a polygraph test for her and Vineet Goyal to uncover the truth.

The body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar room of the hospital on August 9, sparking nationwide protests. A civic volunteer and Dr. Sandip Ghosh were arrested in connection with the incident.
