Supriya Shrinate Criticizes BJP’s Tactics in Jammu and Kashmir Elections
In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly using “tricks” when facing potential election losses. With the vote count for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections set for October 8, Shrinate accused the BJP of planning to nominate five MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir through “backdoor entry.” She claimed this was a tactic used by the BJP when they anticipate losing.
According to Shrinate, the state’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is expected to nominate five members in addition to the 90 elected members. A video posted by the J&K Congress on social media showed BJP leader Sofi Yousuf claiming that all five nominations would be BJP members, which the Congress described as an “open misuse” of power.
Poll predictions by Axis My India suggest a hung assembly in Jammu and Kashmir, with the National Conference-Congress alliance slightly ahead of the BJP. Shrinate expressed confidence in Congress’s ability to win in both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, criticizing the BJP for ignoring issues like unemployment and the needs of young people and women.
She stated, “The issues in Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, and for the upcoming Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly are not any different from the rest of the country. The issues are unemployment, 10 years of Jungle Raaj and disregard for wrestlers, youth and women.” Shrinate believes that if Congress comes to power, there will be investments and job opportunities.
She concluded by expressing confidence that Congress would win more seats than predicted by exit polls.
