Supreme Court Grants Bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, September 13: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Chadha praised Kejriwal as a symbol of honest politics and mentioned that Kejriwal had to go to jail due to his growing popularity. He added that AAP and Kejriwal will lead the party’s campaign in the upcoming Haryana elections.

Raghav Chadha’s Statement

Chadha expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Court and emphasized that Kejriwal’s release would strengthen AAP. He stated, “I thank the Supreme Court… He (Arvind Kejriwal) is not just a name, but a brand of honest politics. He had to go to jail for 6 months because of his increasing popularity… AAP will get more strength… I welcome the decision… Welcome Back Arvind Kejriwal… We will make the further strategy after reading the final order of the Supreme Court to understand the conditions under which the bail has been given… There is a wave of joy in Delhi and the country… Arvind Kejriwal will lead the campaign for the AAP in the upcoming Haryana elections now.”

Punjab Minister Bram Shanker Sharma’s Reaction

Punjab minister Bram Shanker Sharma, also known as Jimpa, said that the verdict has brought enthusiasm among AAP supporters in Haryana ahead of the assembly polls. He remarked, “Satyameva Jayate. After Gujarat elections, when they (BJP) felt the ground beneath their feet shaking, they were concerned and then they decided to break the party somehow. So, Manish Sisodia was jailed immediately after, and then Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh were jailed too. What Supreme Court today said today – that CBI should work on its image of a caged parrot…BJP should think about this…This is a huge victory. There are elections in Haryana. There is enthusiasm in each and every AAP volunteer. This will benefit us, Arvind Kejriwal will go there…A time will come when BJP will have to go to back foot.”

BJP Leader Gaurav Bhatia’s Criticism

BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia criticized AAP for celebrating the bail order, pointing out that Kejriwal has not been acquitted. He said, “Arvind Kejriwal never got relief from any court and no charges have been quashed… He has not been discharged… There is no question of acquittal because the trial will continue… The AAP has to answer why Arvind Kejriwal is not resigning… The BJP has zero tolerance against corruption… The corrupt Arvind Kejriwal will bow down one day and the people will take the resignation from him.”
