In Sharjah, UAE, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, attended a ceremony to honor the winners of the Shams Awards for Arabic Content. Al Obaid emphasized the award's significance, stating it celebrates creativity and reinforces Arab identity, inspired by the vision of Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. The awards aim to strengthen Sharjah's position as a hub for media innovation in the Arab world.
The Deputy Ruler presented awards to winners, including Jamal Al Mulla's "Stories" podcast from the UAE, which won Best Arabic Podcast. Other winners included Ahmed Al Jamal's "Secrets of Money" podcast from Egypt and Badr Al Awadhi's "Art" podcast from the UAE. Fares Shaheen from Syria won Best Short Film for "The Red Shoes," and Gabriel Al Nuwaiji from Libya won Best Video for a Commercial Advertisement.
Ahmed Raafat from Egypt was awarded Best Content Creator on Social Media, with Hafsa Mahyou from Algeria and Marwan Al Shehhi from the UAE taking second and third places, respectively. The event also recognized jury members and sponsors.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed attended a gathering of media professionals organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, aimed at strengthening connections and promoting media sector advancement. He expressed gratitude to media professionals for their contributions to the UAE's media development.
The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Salem bin Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, and others.
