The Sharjah Press Club (SPC), part of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, organized field visits for students participating in the 6th edition of the ‘Ithmaar’ media training programme. These visits took place at the headquarters of CNN Arabic and the Arabian Radio Network.

The students, aged 10-17, learned about various roles in the newsroom and specialized programmes. They received a comprehensive explanation of the stages involved in preparing news radio and television reports. This hands-on experience allowed them to understand the media processes followed by both national and international media institutions.

These visits are a key component of the ‘Ithmaar’ programme, which aims to provide innovative educational experiences. In addition to theoretical workshops, the programme helps develop trainees’ skills and self-confidence. The goal is to discover the professional passions of the trainees and equip them with the necessary tools for future success in the media industry.

The students expressed great enthusiasm and excitement throughout the experience. They appreciated the programme’s role in building their critical thinking, analytical skills, and ability to communicate effectively.

The ‘Ithmaar’ programme is part of a series of initiatives by the Sharjah Press Club to support the media sector, empower young people, and prepare them to play an effective role in society. The sixth edition includes training workshops conducted by top experts from leading media and government organizations, such as CNN Arabic Network, Arabian Radio Network, Sharjah Police General Command, and Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

The programme covers various aspects of the media profession, including artificial intelligence journalism, media content production techniques, practical newsroom simulations, newspaper production, public speaking, body language basics, communication skills, dealing with public figures, and design and visual creativity skills. It also includes workshops on security media for children, public speaking, audio recording, podcast creation, and photography skills.
