The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has sent a legal notice to actress Kangana Ranaut and the producers of the film ‘Emergency’.

Concerns Over National Harmony

Gurcharan Singh Grewal, General Secretary of SGPC, stated that the issue is not just about Sikhs but also concerns national harmony. He emphasized that their opposition is based on arguments, not personal bias against Kangana Ranaut.

Actions Taken

The SGPC has written to the Information and Broadcasting Minister and the Censor Board. Some members have also approached the High Court. A petition has been filed in Chandigarh against Kangana for allegedly misrepresenting historical facts and hurting Sikh sentiments.
