Semicon India 2024: Global CEOs Praise India’s Semiconductor Vision

At Semicon India 2024 in New Delhi, SEMI CEO Ajit Manocha praised the event’s unprecedented scale, with over 100 global CEOs and CXOs attending. SEMI supports the microelectronic, display, and photovoltaic industries.

Ajit Manocha expressed optimism about the industry’s commitment to making India a semiconductor hub. He emphasized the foundational role of semiconductors in every industry.

Randhir Thakur, President and CEO of Tata Electronics, thanked the Prime Minister for his vision and efforts in establishing India’s semiconductor industry. He highlighted the foundation stones laid for India’s first commercial fab in Dholera and the first Indigenous OSAT factory in Jagiroad, Assam.

Kurt Sievers, CEO of NXP Semiconductors, emphasized ambition, trust, and collaboration as key attributes for success. He announced plans to double NXP’s R&D efforts in India.

Hidetoshi Shibata, CEO of Renesas, congratulated the Prime Minister and announced the construction of a pilot line in Gujarat and plans to expand operations in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Noida.

Luc Van Den Hove, CEO of IMEC, highlighted the importance of a reliable supply chain and praised India’s commitment to long-term R&D strategies.
