SCR Hosts ‘Integrity Walkathon’ for Vigilance Awareness Week in Hyderabad
The South Central Railway (SCR) organized an ‘Integrity Walkathon’ at Necklace Road Railway Station in Hyderabad as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024. The event was flagged off by Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of SCR. Participants included senior railway officials, sports personnel, scouts and guides, staff, and students.
Purpose of the Walkathon
Arun Kumar Jain emphasized the importance of vigilance and integrity, stating, “We are observing a Vigilance Awareness Week to spread awareness about vigilance. We should not enter into any corrupt practice. We should maintain integrity.” He highlighted that the week coincides with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday and aims to end the Vigilance Awareness Week on a strong note.
Engaging the Public
The walkathon aimed to convey the message of vigilance to the public. Students participated by creating paintings that communicated the importance of maintaining integrity. The Central Vigilance Commission has set the theme for this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week as “Culture of Integrity for a Nation’s Prosperity,” observed from October 28 to November 3.
