In the run-up to the Delhi assembly elections, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit criticized the 'freebies' offered by political parties, stating that true welfare should address real issues like pollution, development, and infrastructure. Dikshit, contesting from the New Delhi seat, highlighted the need for targeted welfare that meets people's actual needs, rather than just financial incentives.
He pointed out that while AAP and BJP focus on voter lists, Congress remains committed to addressing the pressing issues faced by Delhi residents, such as water shortages and damaged roads. Dikshit emphasized that Congress is the only party focused on real work in the city.
Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia expressed confidence in AAP's victory, stating that the party's approach to using tax money for public benefit is gaining acceptance. Sisodia, contesting from Jangpura, believes AAP will win with a comfortable majority, as people trust Kejriwal's leadership.
The elections are scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.
