On Tuesday, S Paramesh officially became the new Director General of the Indian Coast Guard. He expressed his commitment to an inclusive approach for the growth of the maritime force. Paramesh has a distinguished career spanning over three decades, with experience in various roles both onshore and offshore. He is an alumnus of the National Defence College and Defence Services Staff College. His sea commands include major vessels like the Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel Samar and Offshore Patrol Vessel Vishwast.

Before his current role, Paramesh served as the Coast Guard Commander for the Eastern Seaboard and held key staff positions. He has been recognized with several awards, including the President’s Tatrakshak Medal for Distinguished Service.
