Robbers Disguised as Police Target Polish Tourists in Karachi

In Karachi, Pakistan, four tourists from Poland were robbed by individuals pretending to be police officers. The incident occurred in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area as the tourists were heading to Dolmen Mall in Clifton to buy SIM cards. They were robbed of USD 1,080 near Khayaban-e-Mujahid. Despite the robbery, the tourists left the country the next day without filing a police report. However, they did provide statements to the police.

Authorities are using CCTV footage to identify the robbers. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah condemned the robbery, emphasizing that such incidents harm the country’s reputation. He has requested a report from the additional inspector general of Karachi police and urged for the arrest of the culprits. The chief minister also highlighted the importance of the “safe city project” to enhance street and highway monitoring.
