Renuka Singh Focuses on Bowling Ahead of Women’s Asia Cup 2024

New Delhi [India], July 17: Indian bowler Renuka Singh shared her approach to bowling as she prepares for the Women’s Asia Cup 2024. Renuka, who has played 42 T20I matches and taken 43 wickets, emphasized focusing on delivering good balls rather than worrying about wickets.

Renuka, inspired by former India bowler Zaheer Khan, said, “I just focus on bowling a good ball. I don’t think about the wicket. I just think about hitting the ball in a good area because you get the wicket automatically.” She also mentioned being inspired by domestic player Harpreet.

India, the defending champions, will start their campaign for an eighth Asia Cup title against Pakistan in Dambulla on Friday. The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, has had recent successes, including a 3-0 ODI series win against South Africa and a 5-0 T20I series win against Bangladesh.

These matches are crucial for India’s preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in October in Bangladesh, where they aim to win their first major ICC women’s trophy.
