On Thursday, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned industrialist Ratan Tata, calling it a significant loss for India. Bhagwat praised Tata’s contributions to India’s development and his exemplary humility and simplicity. The RSS shared these sentiments on social media, highlighting Tata’s inspirational work and unique thinking.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, passed a resolution urging the Centre to award Ratan Tata the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, in recognition of his achievements. The Cabinet also passed a condolence proposal and declared a day of mourning in Maharashtra.

Ratan Tata, who was 86, passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. His last rites will be performed with full state honors, and his mortal remains are available for public tribute at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Tributes poured in from leaders across India, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who remembered Tata as a respected global figure.

Born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, Ratan Tata was the Chairman of Tata Sons and was honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. His legacy includes significant contributions to industry and philanthropy through the Ratan Tata Trust and Dorabji Tata Trust.
