Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Urges Safety Amid Heavy Rains

As heavy rains continue to affect parts of Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma held a meeting with officials at the Chief Minister’s Office to discuss disaster management. He instructed immediate strengthening of arrangements and appealed to citizens to stay away from waterlogged areas and avoid using basements during the rain.

In a post on X, CM Sharma wrote, “Today, a meeting was held with the officials regarding the heavy rains in the state at the Chief Minister’s Office and necessary guidelines were given to strengthen all the arrangements related to disaster management immediately. I appeal to all the citizens of the state to stay away from waterlogged areas, maintain distance from electric poles and wires during rains, avoid using basements of buildings and pay special attention to the warnings and safety measures issued by the Disaster Management Department.”

He further requested people to take proper precautions during the rainy days and prayed for a safe and prosperous life for all residents.

Parts of Rajasthan, including Gangapur City, have experienced severe waterlogging due to intense rainfall over the past three days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts additional downpours in certain areas for the upcoming week, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, and Bharatpur divisions. Moderate to heavy rain is also expected in western Rajasthan’s Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions, with a chance of heavy rain in the Shekhawati region.
