Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Announces Progress
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced that Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are working together on the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). The project aims to provide drinking and irrigation water to 13 districts in eastern Rajasthan and the Malwa and Chambal regions of Madhya Pradesh.
The ERCP project, initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2017-18, will also provide industrial water and irrigation for a total of 5.6 lakh hectares in both states. A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) will be finalized soon, covering the scope of work, water sharing, cost sharing, and management arrangements.
