Rahul Gandhi Demands Justice for Nawada Victims After Houses Burned Down

New Delhi, India – September 19: Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has called for immediate action against those responsible for the Nawada incident, where several houses were burned. He emphasized that the state police must quickly take measures to help the victims. In the Mufassil Police Station area in Krishnanagar, Bihar’s Nawada, 20-25 houses were set on fire by unidentified miscreants.

Highlighting the injustice against the Bahujans in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP and NDA allies for suppressing the community. He stated, “Burning down an entire colony of Mahadalits in Nawada and destroying the houses of more than 80 families is highlighting the horrifying picture of injustice against the Bahujans in Bihar.” He added that the cries of the Dalit families who lost their homes and property were not enough to wake up the Bihar government.

Rahul Gandhi accused the NDA government of sheltering those who intimidate the Bahujans and said that the Prime Minister’s silence on the incident is a “seal of approval” for this conspiracy. He urged the Bihar Government and State Police to take immediate and strict action against the culprits and provide complete justice to the victim families by rehabilitating them.

Amid growing voices from opposition leaders, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked the ADG Law and Order Bihar to inspect the spot. Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati also asked the Centre to aid the victims, stating, “The incident of burning down many houses of poor Dalits in Bihar’s Nawada by the goons and ruining their lives is extremely sad and serious. The government should take strict legal action against the culprits and also provide full financial help for the rehabilitation of the victims.”

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also criticized the NDA for atrocities against Dalits, adding that the state was under ‘JungleRaj.’ He wrote, “More than 100 houses of Dalits were set on fire in Nawada. There is fire all over Bihar under the rule of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is carefree, NDA allies are unaware! The poor are burnt, die – what do they care? Atrocities on Dalits will not be tolerated.”
