Rahul Gandhi Claims ED Raids After ‘Chakravyuh’ Speech, Opposition Leaders Support
New Delhi, August 2: Opposition leaders are rallying behind Rahul Gandhi, who claims that the central government is misusing agencies like the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to target him. Gandhi stated that the ED is planning a raid on him following his ‘Chakravyuh’ speech in Parliament on July 29.
Opposition’s Stand
Congress MP Manickam Tagore alleged that the government wants to attack Gandhi after his speech. He said, “The BJP government and Mr. Modi have misused agencies like the ED, CBI, and IT to defame opposition leaders. This government is weak, and Mr. Modi is a weak Prime Minister.”
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi added, “Rahul Gandhi is getting information that ED officials might raid his residence. These selective actions show how these agencies have kneeled before the government.”
Congress leader Jothimani stated, “Rahul Gandhi is not afraid as he stands for the truth and fights for the people of the country.”
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut also supported Gandhi, saying, “Anything can happen. They can attack Rahul Gandhi because the government is tense with opposition attacks.”
Government’s Response
BJP leaders countered Gandhi’s claims. Naresh Bansal said, “He knows that he has done something wrong and now he is in fear that he will get exposed.”
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut criticized Gandhi, saying, “He makes no sense, and the words he used for the country are condemnable.”
Rahul Gandhi’s Reaction
In a post on X, Gandhi said, “Apparently, 2 in 1 didn’t like my Chakravyuh speech. ED ‘insiders’ tell me a raid is being planned. Waiting with open arms, @dir_ed. Chai and biscuits on me.”
This controversy follows Gandhi’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Union Budget 2024 discussion in the Lok Sabha on July 29.
