Rahul Gandhi and Leaders Condemn Terrorist Attack in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir
On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, condemned a recent terrorist attack in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack resulted in the deaths of several people, including a doctor and migrant laborers. Gandhi described the attack as “a very cowardly and unforgivable crime” and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. He emphasized that such acts of terrorism will not break the spirit of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials reported that at least two laborers were killed in the attack in the Gagangeer area of Ganderbal district. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also condemned the attack, assuring that those responsible will be punished. He stated that the police, army, and security forces have been given full freedom to act.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah called the attack “dastardly and cowardly,” highlighting that the victims were working on an important infrastructure project. He expressed his condolences and noted that the number of casualties is not yet confirmed, as some injured have been referred to SKIMS, Srinagar.
Inspector General of Kashmir Zone police VK Birdi visited the site, and the area has been cordoned off by security forces. Former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad also condemned the killings, describing them as “an act against humanity” and called for firm action against the perpetrators.
