New Delhi, India – Team India’s former head coach Rahul Dravid shared his thoughts on his coaching philosophy, emphasizing stability and connection. Dravid, who ended his coaching term with a victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa, expressed his preference for continuity over frequent changes.

In a video posted on the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) social media, Dravid said, “I am someone who likes continuity in life. I don’t like chopping and changing too many things because I think that creates a lot of instability and doesn’t create a very good environment.”

Dravid also highlighted that coaching goes beyond just teaching cricket skills. “I like to believe that coaching is not just about coaching cricket. This is about building connections with the people and creating the right environment that allows for success,” he added.

He further explained his vision for the team, focusing on winning games by getting the process right. “The vision of course is to win a cricket game. You try to win as much as you can. But I always look back to the fact that what is it that leads to the winning? How do you win more games? What is the process required to win more games?” Dravid said.

Recapping the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024, Virat Kohli and Axar Patel’s partnership helped India reach a total of 176/7. Despite a tense defense, India managed to secure a 7-run victory, clinching their second T20 World Cup title.
