Support for Priyanka Gandhi in Bypolls
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, campaigned in Wayanad, Kerala, to support his sister Priyanka Gandhi, the Congress candidate for the upcoming bypolls on November 13. During an election rally, Rahul expressed his confidence in Priyanka, stating, “I am lucky to have her as a sister. Now, you are also lucky to have her as a sister. She is going to be like your sister, like your mother, like your daughter.”
Priyanka Gandhi Criticizes Modi Government
Priyanka Gandhi criticized the Modi-led central government, accusing it of prioritizing big business interests over the people’s well-being. She claimed the government aims to stay in power by dividing people and oppressing democratic institutions. Priyanka also acknowledged the support Wayanad gave to Rahul during challenging times, saying, “When my brother, Rahul Gandhi ji, was facing massive difficulties, it was you who stood by him.”

The Gandhis were joined by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and welcomed by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President K Sudhakaran, Congress MP K Suresh, and Congress MLA T Siddique. Wayanad, a Congress stronghold, will see Priyanka Gandhi contest against BJP’s Navya Haridas and the Left’s Sathyan Mokeri. The bypoll was called after Rahul Gandhi vacated the seat, choosing to retain Rae Bareli following his general election victory.
