PTI’s Rally in Islamabad to Proceed Despite NOC Suspension, Says Omar Ayub

Islamabad [Pakistan], July 6: Omar Ayub, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced that the party’s public gathering in Islamabad will go ahead as planned, despite the authorities suspending the No-Objection Certificate (NOC). Ayub stated that the PTI had received permission from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to hold the event and would not be deterred by the government’s attempts to restrict their activities.

The suspension of the NOC was decided by the Islamabad Chief Commissioner during a meeting where security agencies expressed concerns about potential risks associated with the rally. The authorities emphasized that the decision was made to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.

Initially, the district administration had allowed PTI to hold the gathering near Tarnol Chowk on July 6. However, the NOC was suspended just a day before the event. Justice Babar Sattar of the IHC had previously disposed of the application for the NOC after granting permission for the gathering.

Meanwhile, PTI founder Imran Khan mentioned that he might go on a hunger strike if he continued to be denied justice. Speaking after court proceedings in a corruption case, Khan emphasized that decisions should be made fairly, as all citizens are equal before the law. He also alleged that Adiala Jail was being managed by military officers who restricted his meetings with PTI leaders.

Imran Khan advised his party members to keep internal disputes private to focus on their main objectives. He also criticized the recent budget, claiming it had negatively impacted the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) politics.
