PTI Leaders Urge Omar Ayub Khan to Stay Despite Resignation

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have expressed confidence in Omar Ayub Khan, urging him to continue in his roles as the party’s secretary general and opposition leader in the National Assembly. A meeting of PTI’s parliamentary party on Friday unanimously resolved that Ayub’s resignation should not be accepted.

Despite Ayub’s resignation being accepted by PTI’s founding chairperson Imran Khan, the parliamentary party issued a press release stating that Ayub should continue in his previous roles. This decision came as a surprise to many, as it was believed that Imran Khan would not accept Ayub’s resignation.

Ayub had tendered his resignation on June 22, citing the burden of dual responsibilities as the reason for his decision. In a post on X, he thanked PTI members, Parliamentarians, and Tanzeem Office Holders for their support and hard work for former Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI.
