PTI Leader Asad Qaiser Demands Release of KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur

In Peshawar, Pakistan, Asad Qaiser, a senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has issued a warning to the government. He stated that there would be nationwide protests if Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is not released within 24 hours. This statement was reported by ARY News.

According to reports, Chief Minister Gandapur went missing while on his way to a protest in Islamabad. PTI leaders claim he has been detained, but the government denies these allegations, saying Gandapur is not in official custody.

During a session at the KP Assembly, Asad Qaiser expressed his anger over the alleged detention, calling it an unprecedented move. He condemned the vandalism at Islamabad’s KP House and demanded the release of Gandapur and over 1,000 detained PTI workers.

Qaiser also criticized the government’s alleged efforts to silence the opposition. He warned that PTI would boycott meetings in the National Assembly, Senate, and standing committees if controversial constitutional amendments were introduced.

Qaiser questioned why Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is not treated similarly, comparing her situation to Gandapur’s. The KP Assembly session, chaired by Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, started after a five-hour delay. Around 300 PTI supporters gathered to protest, demanding Gandapur’s release. Some protested outside, while others chanted slogans from the public gallery.
