Priyanka Goswami Thanks Government for Air Conditioners at Paris Olympics
Race walker Priyanka Goswami has expressed her gratitude to the Indian government for providing air conditioners to athletes at the Paris Olympic Village. The Sports Ministry, in collaboration with the Indian Olympic Association and the French Embassy, supplied 40 AC units to ensure athletes get proper rest amid hot and humid conditions.
Priyanka mentioned that the athletes were struggling to sleep due to the heat, and even fans were not sufficient. She thanked the government for the timely intervention, which has made them feel more comfortable.
The decision to provide air conditioners was made early on Friday, and the units are already in use. This move is expected to help athletes perform better by ensuring they get adequate rest.
India has secured three bronze medals in shooting events at the Paris Olympics. Manu Bhaker won a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in this category. Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker also won a bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, marking India’s first-ever team shooting medal. Additionally, Swapnil Kusale won a bronze in the men’s 50m rifle 3P event, becoming the first Indian shooter to win a medal in this category.
